Open New grading book

1. Click the "New" button.

2. Enter scores as shown in "Enter scores and get grades" section.

Import student list

1. Click the "Import Student list" button.

2. Enter your SQU Portal username & password in the "Import Student List" dialogue box.

3. Enter course code and section number.

4. Click the "Import" button.

5. Students' names and IDs will be added directly to the scoring sheet.

Define course information
 

1. Click the "Course Information" button.

2. Enter course information (e.g., College, Level, Semester, Contact Hours...).

3. Click the "OK" button.

Define and weight activities and sub-activities

1. Click the "Academic Activities" button.

2. Check/Uncheck activities as required.

3. You have to have a minimum of two main activities in your main grading sheet.

4. Define titles & scores of up-to four main activities or categories of activities.

5. Define scores of mid and final exam.

6. Click the "OK" button.

Enter scores and get grades

 

1. Enter students' scores directly into the main scoring sheet

2. or click on "Activities" tab at the bottom of the grading sheet to prepare, assemble and calculate sub-activities scores (e.g. assignment 1, assignment 2, assignment 3...).

3. Define the title of up-to eight sub-activities of each activity and their scores.

4. Click "Apply to Grading Sheet" button to copy students' total score of to the grading sheet.

5. Repeat step 3 & 4 with other activities using the tab selector at the left corner of the sheet.

6. Enter Mid-term and final-term scores.

7. Grades will be generated automatically after entering the final-term score.

Save a file

 

1. Click the "Save" button to save your grading book as [filename.gra]

2. To save your grading book with a different new name, click "Save As" button

Save and open password-protected files

 

1. Click on the "Tools" menu then select "Security" menu item.

2. Enter a password.

3. Click "Save" button to save your grading book with your password

4. To save your grading book with a different new name, click "Save As" button

5. Click the "Open" button then enter your password to open your saved file.

Comment on students

1. Click on the student's name you need to comment on.

2. Click the "Grade Card" button.

3. Enter your comments in the "Comments" text box and then click the "Apply" button.

4. The student's name will be highlighted.

Change student case

1. Click on the student's name you need to comment on.

2. Click the "Grade Card" button as shown above.

3. Change student case from "Normal" to FW, FSP, I(X)...

4. Click the "Apply" button to apply changes to the grading sheet.

Track student attendance

 

1. Click on "Attendance" tab at the bottom of the grading sheet. By default all students are supposed to be attending the class.

2. Click on attendance mark to change a student attendance case.

Remove a student

1. Click on the student name you need to remove from the class.

2. Click the "Remove Student" button to remove the selected student.

Add a student

 

1. Enter the student's ID and name at the end of the grading sheet.

2. Click on the "Sort Students" button to re-sort students by IDs and place the added student in the last correctly.

Sort students

1. Click on the "Sort Students" button to sort students by ID, name, mid-term, sub-total, final-terms score or the final grade.

2. Select "Ascending" or "Descending" to sort students as required.

Modify the letter grading scale

 

1. Click on "Tools" menu then select "Grading Scale" menu item.

2. Change the grading letter and/or the cut-off score opposite to the letter.

3. Enter the failure letter (e.g., F).

4. Click the "OK" button to apply changes.

Get course statistics

1. Click on the "Statistics" button.

2. A pop-up window with summary of grades and other useful statistics will be generated (e.g., medium and Standard Division).

3. Choose your favorite chart type.

Upload grades

1. Click on the "Upload Grades" button.

2. Click on the "Login & Select Course" button in the pop-up window.

3. Enter your Web Grade Entry username & password.

4. Select your course from the course list to open the course grade entry page.

5. Return to the above pop-up window and click on the "Upload Grades" button.

6. A page containing students' IDs, names and grades will be generated.

7. Click on the "Upload Grades" button to submit grades directly to the Web Grade Entry database.

Print

1. Click the "Print" button.

2. Select the document type you need to print (e.g., Scoring and grading Sheet, Blank Attendance Sheet, Updated Attendance Sheet, Student report and Statistics).
