“We
are more than happy that Windows 7 was launched after long restless
period of waiting. RealGrade 5.0 has been reviewed by
Windows 7 Download and got 5 Stars Award”
Assigning, calculating, documenting and
reporting students' grades are extremely exhausting and time-consuming tasks,
requiring the tabulations of an entire term to be done by hand or computer
spreadsheets. In addition, a large variance of grading practices was found
across departments and colleges. Because of issues such as instructors using
different traditional and electronic methods in computing grades, the use of a
standard electronic grading book should bring consistency into these practices.
Not only does using an electronic grading book promote consistency, it also
assists in promoting professionalism in documentation process throughout the
University as well. As SQU is moving toward the electronic and digital era with
great efforts to integrate technology in various ways, on the one hand, and
toward accreditation, on the other, using a standard grading and reporting
software is essential to ensure that assessment done by faculty meets acceptable
levels of the digital age, quality and standardization, which are basic
requirements for accreditation.
The Solution
Although many commercial
grading packages are available, none of them is developed with the SQU Student
Information System (SIS) and instructor's needs in mind. The majority of these
applications are designed for school-level teachers or to be adopted by
instructors at specific university system. Therefore, SQU instructors are being
challenged to integrate any of these applications into their grading practice.
This leads the author to develop a grading and reporting Software; RealGrade is
a home-made full-featured application helping the University instructors to
grade and report their students' academic activities and exams quickly and
efficiently based on the University grading scale. It automates the tasks
involved in scoring, grading, validating, communicating, managing and reporting
grades. It provides a number of functions to import and export student lists,
track student attendance and generate course statistics useful in evaluating
student performance and communicating results to students and advisors more
effectively. Many features were considered in developing the final version of
RealGrade.
“Excellent
tool, I really liked the simple interface and efficient
grading sheet, with weighting and statistics functions”.
“That's
really great. It helps to give accurate letter grades and
very helpful in statistics. All our staff should use it”.
“I
found your Real Grade 5.0 very useful for storing student's
grade information on my University. It runs very well and
has a lot of useful features”.
